Doris Masterson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Legacy Options Funeral and Cremation Services, LLC - Naples on Jul. 20, 2024.
Doris J. Masterson died peacefully in her sleep at her Naples Florida residence on July 16, 2024 at the age of 96. Born June 6, 1928 in Waukegan Illinois she was the daughter of Glen and Vera (Brown) Ristow. After graduating from New Lisbon High School in 1946, she attended Beautician School. Doris married Keith Schoonover, on June 5th, 1949 and had two sons, Greg and David.
On August 5, 1967 Keith passed away after having a heart attack. Doris married John Masterson in 1972 but once again, fate was not on her side as John passed away from cancer on November 26, 1989. A number of years later, Doris found love again in a man by the name of Norm Bohlman. The only difference this time is she would not accept Norm's marriage proposals as she went on record saying, "All the wonderful men I love and marry have always died too soon". So Norm and Doris ended up having a loving and wonderful life for 19 years. Once again Doris outlived Norm who passed away April 29, 2016.
Doris always enjoyed gardening, traveling, big band music, dancing and especially enjoyed the holidays with her family! Doris was a loving and caring mother and is survived by her two sons, Greg (Michel) Schoonover, David (Becky) Schoonover, her grandchildren Eric Schoonover, Katherine Abraham and Grayson Schoonover, six great grandchildren Patrick, Conor, Ryan, Kathryn, Celia, Ivy, and her sister-in-law Thelma (Schoonover) Wright. Doris will be greatly missed by her family.
Doris' death is proceeded by her parents, Glen and Vera Ristow, in-laws Otto and Jennie Schoonover, brother Bob Ristow and wife Pat, sister Janice Vanek and husband Jim, brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws Griffin and Gladys Schoonover, Virgil Schoonover, Gladys and Gordon Emmons. There will be a private celebration of life at a date to be determined by her immediate family.
