Doris Eilene McCormick Keeton of Harmony, PA, passed away in the presence of her family on September 12, 2025. Born on November 28, 1943, in Pittsburgh, PA, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Charles F. and Evangeline Finney McCormick.
Doris grew up in Cambridge, OH, before obtaining her Bachelor's degree in education from Ohio University in Athens, OH, where she was a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. She later earned a Master's degree in education from Ohio University.
In her early career, Doris was an elementary physical education teacher. After taking time off to have a family, she returned to work as the communications manager at The Medical Center in Beaver, PA (now Heritage Valley). She later worked as the office manager at Insight Health in Wexford, PA. She was a member of Park United Presbyterian Church in Zelienople, PA.
Doris enjoyed keeping up with friends, playing volleyball, cheering the Steelers, and caring for the Keeton Kitties.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 59 years, Gary Edward Keeton. She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Kristine Keeton, and her son, Geoffrey McCormick Keeton.
Doris will be remembered for her thoughtfulness, her generosity, and her creativity. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace.
Visiting hours for friends and family will be held from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at the Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, PA 16063.
A funeral service will be held at 10am on Friday, September 19, 2025, at Park United Presbyterian Church, 109 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, PA 16063.
Doris will be laid to rest at Plum Creek Cemetery, 670 Center New Texas Rd., Pittsburgh, PA. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Doris, please visit our floral store.
