It is with deep respect and solemn remembrance that we announce the passing of Doris A. Pelkey, who left this world on March 7, 2026, at Unity Hospital in her beloved hometown of Rochester, New York. Born on May 2, 1936, Doris lived a life marked by quiet strength.
A lifelong resident of Rochester, Doris was a proud graduate of Rochester City Schools. She devoted her career to the service of others as a Home Aide with Caring Angels, where her compassionate spirit and diligent care left an indelible mark on those she assisted.
Doris had a creative heart and a gentle touch, finding joy and solace in arts and crafts.
She was born to parents Hendrick and Helen Barnes (Gerstner), who have preceded her in death. Doris is survived by her caring daughter and cousin.
Doris A. Pelkey’s life story is a testament to quiet dedication. She will be remembered with gratitude and affection by all who knew her. Her memory remains a treasured gift to her family and the wider Rochester community. Services will be at a later date at the convivence of the family.
