Doris Mobbs Pleasants, age 91, passed away Thursday, September 20, 2012 at her residence. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, September 23, 2012 in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. Harvey Whaley officiating. She was a native of Brooklyn, NY and the daughter of the late Frank Wallace Mobbs and the late Edna Ernestine Engle Mobbs. Mrs. Pleasants was retired from Champion Products where she had the distinguished honor to have been the longest serving employee with 55 years of service. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sheron Pleasants in 1969. She is survived by her three children; a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Charles Switzer of Garner; two sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy and Mary Pleasants of Angier and Mark and Sonya Pleasants of Valdosta, GA; nine grandchildren, Chad Holderfield, Nick Greenway, Sara Pleasants, Katie Pleasants, Brandon Pleasants, Bryan Pleasants, Lance Pleasants, Fallon Pleasants and Emily Pleasants; and two great grandchildren, George Thomas Holderfield and Coby Pleasants. She was the kindest and most loving mother and grandmother and a great friend to everyone. She will be missed by all who were blessed enough to know her. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to 3HC Home Health and Hospice Care, 723 South 3rd Street, Suite # C, Smithfield, NC 27577.
