Doris Jeanette Starkey Privette, 84 of Saint Pauls, passed away Monday, February 5, 2024.
Born May 31, 1939, in Burke County, Doris was the daughter of the late Oris Starkey, Sr. and Dolly Starkey. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Oris Starkey, Jr.
She is survived by her son, Stephen Privette and his wife Jennifer; daughter, Suzanne Privette Hyatt; grandchildren, Ella Rose, Addiline Reece, and Atlas John Privette; and a host of other family and friends.
Doris was a graduate of Appalachian State University where she also played on the basketball team. After college, she worked as a schoolteacher with Fort Bragg and Cumberland County Schools for almost fifty years. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching westerns with her husband Glenn and going to Waffle House.
Doris will be remembered as a very kind person who loved church and her close group of friends. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
