Doris Reich Obituary
She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband Gene; daughter Rebecca L. Reich; daughter-in-law Susan K. Reich; brother Orville Westerman and wife Vernita; brother Arden Luke and wife Evie, brother Kenenth Luke, sister Bernice Anderson and husband Oliver "Gob;" sister Shirley Fisk and husband Curtis "Buzzy;" and brother-in-law Warren Ohland.
Doris is survived by sons Gregory (Tracie) and Joseph (Lori); son-in-law Dale Johnson, grandchildren: Andrew, Allie (Ralph), Nikki, Justin (Sarah), Zoe (Roth), and Jordan; great grandchildren: Aubrey, Rylee, Reagan, and Whitley, sister Diane (Joe) Gee, sister Sharon Ohland, sister-in-law Gayle Luke, personal care giver Jody Laughlin, as well as her beloved nieces and nephews that always took such wonderful care of her.
Doris was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Excelsior. After working locally, she was introduced to the love of her life, Gene, by her brother Arden. They married on 11/18/1950. Doris spent her years enjoying horses on her farm, raising roses and dahlias, spending time with her family on Gideon's Bay in Lake Minnetonka and at the family vacation home in Ft. Myers Beach, Florida. Family was everything to Doris. She was an amazing wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was deeply rooted in her faith and was a proud lifetime member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 8 at Huber Funeral Chapel in Excelsior, MN from 4:00PM to 7:00PM. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 9 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church (23290 Hwy 7 Excelsior, MN) with visitation from 10:00-11:00AM, the service beginning at 11:00AM, with lunch at noon. Interment to follow at 2:45 at the Garden of the Apostles in Burnsville, MN.
Memorials preferred to Our Savior's Lutheran Church.

I had the great privilege of meeting Doris last June (2024) when I flew up to Minnesota from Arizona to go see where my family had lived many years ago. Doris Luke is my great-grandaunt. The Lukes (Jr. and Nancy) took me to see her. Even in her age, she had such a vibrant personality. She was strong in her faith and so caring, and all of the stories of her life only deepened my respect for this wonderful woman. - Jo Olson.

Oh yes! My first Christmas with the Reich family in 1987. I brought just one gift for her, but I was absolutely showered with gifts and saw the happiness on her face as I opened all of them. I also had never seen so many ornaments on a tree and each and every one had a story. She was a very generous and caring soul who constantly worried about other´s happiness and she would fall asleep praying for everyone. She helped me in so many ways I can´t even count. Rest well my dear and I know you are with all of the departed souls that you loved and nurtured. We will do our best to carry on without you. Thank you for everything. I love you. Lori
