Doris Lee Rider peacefully passed away on January 5, 2026. She was the beloved wife of 61 years to Paul Rider, Sr.; the devoted mother of Donna Ruff and the late Paul Rider, Jr.; loving grandmother of Emily French and her husband John, Jessica Ruff, and Andrew Ruff; and the cherished great-grandmother of Hayden and Beau French. She was the dear sister of the late Frank Myers, Paul Myers, Betty Brown, and Patricia Garmen, and is lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Doris and Paul shared a beautiful life together. They especially loved spending time on their boat, exploring the Chesapeake Bay with family and friends — anchoring in Fairlee Creek, swimming, enjoying cookouts on the beach, and relaxing on the water. They also treasured fishing together on the Chesapeake Bay, in Delaware, and in Ocean City, creating memories their family will always hold dear.
They also enjoyed traveling, especially their trips to Bermuda and the Bahamas, where they created countless joyful memories together. Doris loved caring for her family and took great pride in the holidays, when her home was filled with warmth, delicious food, and laughter. She treasured time with her grandchildren and found joy in simple pleasures such as reading and playing Bingo.
The family will receive friends at the E.F. Lassahn Funeral Home, P.A., 11750 Belair Road, Kingsville, on Thursday, January 8, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Further visiting will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., at which time funeral services will begin.
