JoAnn Sims, 68, of Winnsboro passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, surrounded by her family. Born in Winnsboro, she was the daughter of the late Calvin and Doris Branham, as well as the wife of David Sims for 48 years.

JoAnn was a member of Washington Street Baptist Church. She grew up attending Rockton Baptist Church, in which she began playing the piano there in her early teenage years. She always enjoyed volunteering with the children during VBS. Other hobbies included cooking, trips to the flea market and listening to gospel music.

She is survived by her husband, David Sims; two daughters Jennifer Ashford (Maine) and Sarah Davis; sister Denise Lockey (Paul) and brother Calvin Branham, Jr.; five grandchildren, Brianna Sims, Alisha Davis, Paris Sims, Davon Ashford and Caleb Davis; five great grandchildren, Akeem Gibbs, Jr., Kayden Sims, Aevion Sims, Navayah Davis and Caleb Davis, Jr.; and special nephew Jacob (Morgan) and niece Heather (Anthony).

The family of JoAnn acknowledges with deep appreciation the many kind and comforting expressions of sympathy shown to us. Please continue to keep the family in your prayers. May God bless you!
