Doris M. (Copp) Smith, 94, of Jackson Township, died Thursday, October 28, 2021, at her home. She was the wife of the late Ralph W. Smith.
Doris was born December 10, 1926, in Codorus Township, a daughter of the late Paul H. and Jennie (Smith) Copp and step- daughter of Fairy A. (Thoman) Copp.
She and her husband Ralph owned and operated a dairy farm for 65 years, she also had worked at the York Caramel CO, and Pentland and Paper, Hanover. Mrs. Smith was a member of St. Jacob's (Stone) United Church of Christ, where she taught Sunday School. She enjoyed word searches and spending time with her beloved family, especially her grandchildren.
Doris survived by a daughter, Gloria J. Myers and her husband, Daniel "Mort" of York; a son, David L. Smith of North Bend, PA; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; a step brothers, Kenneth L. Copp; a step-sister, Lorraine L. Gladfelter; and a son-in-law, Nevin J. Krebs of Hanover.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Barbara A. Krebs; her brothers Paul J. Copp and Gerald J. Copp; her sisters Helen M. Gladfelter, and Mary Ann Young; a daughter-in-law Donna Smith.
A viewing will be held from 9:00AM until funeral services begin at 11:00AM. Monday, November 1, 2021, at Geiple-Predicce Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 53 Main Street, Glen Rock, with her pastor, Rev. Bruce P. Bouchard, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Jacob's Stone Church Cemetery, Glenville.
