Doris M. Stokes, 86, of Wilson Borough, PA, formerly of Phillipsburg, NJ, passed away Monday, February 2, 2026, at her son's home.
Born February 12, 1939, in Phillipsburg, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Virginia (Friend) Rossnagle.
Her husband of 40 years, the late Lamar Thomas Stokes, Sr., passed away June 18, 2000.
Years ago, she worked as a CNA for the former Eastwood Convalescent Home, now New Eastwood.
Doris loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed going to church, reading the Bible and listening to worship music.
She was a member of Phillipsburg Alliance Church.
Surviving are eight children, Virginia Greenleaf, of High Bridge, NJ, Doris Ebner, of Wilson Borough, Patricia Rogers and her husband Jason, of Blue Mountain, Lamar Thomas Stokes, Jr. and his wife Donna, of Wind Gap, Charles Stokes and his wife Lisa, with whom she resided, Julie Brunstetter and her husband Don, of Whitehall, Cindy Wegfahrt and her husband Eric, of Summerville, SC, and Tina Kressley, of Bowmanstown; two brothers, Pat Rossnagle and his wife Sue, of Phillipsburg, NJ, and William Rossnagle and his wife Jeanette, of Palmer Township; two sisters, Linda Bladies and her companion John, of Palmerton, and Donna Lombardi and her husband Pete, of the Poconos; 19 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a grandson, Terry Lee Wegfahrt, five brothers, Harvey, Richard, Francis, Barry and Norman "Pete" Rossnagle, and four sisters, Margaret Petchonka, Ginny Fahr, Marie and Joanne Rossnagle.
Services will be held at 11am Friday, February 6th, in the Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., 2101 Northampton Street, Wilson Borough. Call Friday 9-11am in the funeral home. Interment will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine. Offer online condolences at www.strunkfh.com.
