Doris Jean Thomas/Pedro, age 94 years, passed peacefully on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at Park Terrace.. Jean was born in Louisville, retired after many years with RC Cola and Spaulding Cleaners and for many years took sweet care of her parents, Benjamin Joel Holleman and Laura Belle (Smith) Holleman. She lived all her life in the house on the back-side of Churchill Downs built by her father in 1947. Jean loved getting her family together at her family home, especially at Derby-time. She was blessed by having been married to two loving husbands, Albert Russell Thomas Sr., who died in 1981, and Walter Pedro, who died in 1996. She was also predeceased by her twin son, Ike Thomas, her daughter, Vicki Meredith and her six sisters, Lillian, Veresie, Lucille, Arlene, Margaret and Edna and her brother, Johnny Holleman. She is survived by two sons, Gary K. Thomas and Michael D. Thomas (Debbie), her two daughters, Joyce L. Miller (Larry) and Laura J. Mason (Chris). Twelve Grandchildren, many Great-Grandchildren and many Great-Great-Grandchildren also survive. Funeral Services will be held 1:00pm Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at J. B. Ratterman & Sons Funerals & Family Cremation Care, 2114 W. Market St. Interment Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation 9:00am to 1:00pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
