Doris Beavers Turner, age 72, of Emmet, Arkansas passed away peacefully in her home with her family by her side on October 29, 2025.

Doris was born December 29, 1952, in Springhill, Louisiana to Billie Dees Hughes and the late William Doss Beavers, Jr.

Doris was an extremely talented pianist and organist since the age of 14. She was a member of the Reader Baptist Church where she has played the piano for many years. She had a strong faith in her Lord that she shared with many.

Doris married the love of her life, Samuel W. Turner, on December 29, 1973, and they spent 51 wonderful years together. They met in college, and Sam knew when he saw her that he had met his soulmate and partner for life.

Doris graduated from Louisiana Tech in 1974 with a degree in elementary education. She taught school for a couple of years, stayed home with her boys, and became a Legal Secretary while living in Wisconsin. After Doris and Sam moved back to Arkansas, she began working for the Office of Child Support Enforcement until her retirement in 2018.

Doris was preceded in death by her father William Doss Beavers Jr and her second father Lavelle "Chief" Hughes.

Doris leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Samuel "Sam" Turner of Emmet, AR; two sons - Matthew Turner (Gail) of Texarkana, AR and Mark Turner (Susan) of Arkadelphia, AR; her mother Billie Hughes of Springhill, LA; two brothers – Dennis Beavers of West Monroe and Troy Beavers (Susan) of Springhill, LA; mother and father-in-law Olen and Jo Turner of Chidester, AR; 2 brother-in-law - Michael Turner (Evie) of Missouri, John Turner (Andrea) of Louisiana along with many other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

The family would like to send out a special thanks to Enhabit Hospice and Katy for taking such good care of her needs.

Visitation will be held from 1:00pm – 2:00pm Sunday, November 2, 2025, at Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home in Prescott.

Graveside services will follow at 3:00pm in Turner Cemetery Reader, AR with Bro. Wade Totty officiating, under the direction of Herndon-Fuqua Funeral of Prescott.
