Obituary published on Legacy.com by Legacy Options Funeral and Cremation Services, LLC - Naples on Dec. 16, 2025.
Doris Joan Watson age 100 passed away in Naples, Florida on November 27, 2025, peacefully with family. Doris was born in London, England on February 18th, 1925, to Stanley Victor Mallard and Annie May Hutchinson.

Doris met Robert Edward Maahs during World War II. Robert (Bob) Maahs was commissioned near London and flew many missions over Germany during the war. Doris remembered running from the bombs being dropped by the Germans in her city and causing serious fires. They were married during the war, and she was sent to America on the Queen Mary (ship). At this time German submarines operated in the Atlantic and was lucky enough to reach New York without getting attacked. After the war Doris and her husband lived in Miami. In Miami they enjoyed fishing and air boating while raising two children Allan and Wayne Maahs. Doris also loved bowling and become a member of the 300 club. After her husband died she worked at a bank and met Goodlette "Bo" Watson. They moved to Palmetto, Florida. Both enjoyed boating, fishing and maintaining a beautiful yard.

She is survived by son Wayne Maahs (Kim) and grandson Daryl Maahs (Katelyn) and three step grandchildren (Sarah, Angela, Brian). Also 15 great grandchildren and 4 great, great grandchildren.

Doris (Nana) enjoyed her fishing and talking about her philosophy on life at every family gathering. She will be missed and never forgotten.

A celebration of life will be done on her birthday in February at the Back 40 ranch in Collier County.
