Doris A. Whitaker (nee Knapp),85, of Westminster MD, formerly of Orlando, FL, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Carroll Lutheran Village.
She was the beloved wife of the late Jimmy L. Whitaker for 37 years.
Born September 4, 1940, in Warwick, RI, the daughter of the late Jasper Roy Knapp and the late Doris Annie Knapp (nee Anderson)
Mrs. Doris worked for many different companies including Navy Contract Services, the Orlando Sentinel as a paper Deliverer for over 25 years, a hairstylist/hair consultant and MTA Truck driving for Burlington Motor Carriers. She was an avid Motorcyclist and Cribbage player. She was a lifetime member of Slocum Grange 26 in Rhode Island and a member of the Azalea Park United Methodist Church, Orlando, FL. She loved spending time with her family and friends.
Missing her most: daughter Alletha & son-in-law Kevin, grandchildren Shawna, Scott & wife Dianna, Teresa & husband Mike, Patric and wife Rebecca, Christa, Kayla and husband Chuck, Matthew and great-grandchildren Nicholas, Charlie, Calvin, Dexter, Meadow, Summer, Amira, Aaliyah, and nieces, nephews and grand nieces/nephews.
Preceded in death by daughter Cheryl Gleason, twin sister Doreen Greer, and brother Paul Knapp.
Interment at a later date in Glen Haven Memorial Park in Winter Park, Fl.
