She was born in Iron River on Oct. 26, 1935, daughter of the late Walter and Mary (Swienty) Pucylowski. Doris graduated from Iron River High School, Class of '53, and from Marquette University in 1956. In her early years, Doris enjoyed playing tennis and later cross-country skiing. Doris' faith was foundational to every aspect of her life. She was generous with her time particularly when it came to Eucharistic Adoration and prayer. Gathering with family and friends was Doris' favorite way to spend time, providing opportunities to share her skills at cooking, baking and card games, during which she often laughed so hard it brought tears to her eyes. Her talents were on full showcase during her favorite time of year, the Christmas season. To keep her mind sharp, Doris often enjoyed puzzles of all sorts. She had a resilient and determined spirit, allowing her to tough through the many challenges life threw her way. Doris will be remembered and admired for her integrity, perseverance, and loving devotion.
Doris will be deeply missed by her husband of 59 years, Cecil; 3 sons, Daniel (Julie) Wickman, Thomas (Claudia) Wickman and David Wickman; 5 grandchildren, Katie, Allie, Abby, Alex and Nicole Wickman; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Larry Jacobson, Dorothy Wickman, Ray Wickman, Helen Ann Mumma and Warren (Betty) Wickman; and many other close family and friends.
