Dorothea W. "Dorothy" Croyle

1940 - 2026

PHILIPSBURG - Dorothea W. "Dorothy" Croyle, 86, of (Chester Hill) Philipsburg, passed on her birthday, Sunday, March 8, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on March 8, 1940, in Crailsheim, Germany, a daughter of the late Rudolph and Wilhelmina (Riess) Kuhn.

Born and raised in Crailsheim; she met the love of her life, William (Bill), while he was stationed in Germany where they subsequently became husband and wife in December of 1958.

After relocating to the United States and settling in Philipsburg, she became active in the local community as a member of the Philipsburg-Osceola Area PTO, Chester Hill Mother's Club, and the First Church of Christ in Philipsburg.

As a homemaker she dedicated her life to spending time and caring for her family. To her family she was known as Oma, meaning grandmother in German, and being Oma was where she thrived. She wanted nothing more in life than to make her family happy, whether that be through your stomach or lending her ear. To know Oma was to be loved, and her love will live on through her family.

She is survived by her husband, William L. Croyle, at home; a daughter, Michelle Williams, of Kansas City, Mo.; a son, Mark Croyle and his wife, Donna, of Lynn Haven, Fla.; sixteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; a sister, Inge Cheney, of Spanaway, Wash.; and numerous other extended family members.

She was preceded in death by three of her sons: Peter Croyle, Thomas Croyle and William "Bub" Croyle, Jr.; and a daughter-in-law, Thomas' wife, Laura.

A celebration of life for Dorothea will be held on April 25, 2026, with a location to be announced.
