Dorothea M. Sopper, 93, of Jaffrey, NH, formerly of Keene, passed away on August 19, 2023, following a period of declining health.
Dorothea was born in Medford, MA, on May 13, 1930, a daughter to the late James and Mildred (King) Sopper.
She attended Cheverus Catholic School in Malden and graduated in the class of 1948 before attending Fisher Jr. College and obtaining her associate degree. She was very involved in her husband’s business and assisted him with establishing and running his business Pipeline Testing Service, and even designed the logo.
In her free time, Dorothea enjoyed painting, and sat as a chairperson on the Winchester Board of Health. She most enjoyed the time spent with her grandchildren.
In addition to both parents, Dorothea was predeceased by her husband, Francis Paul Sopper in 2005.
Dorothea is survived by her children: Francis P. Jr. of Dummerston, VT, Judy Godbout of Woburn, MA, Eric Sopper of Jaffrey, NH, and Richard Sopper of West Chester, PA.
Family and friend are invited to gather for a celebration of life on Thursday, August 31, 2023, from 2:00-4:00PM at Cournoyer Funeral Home 33, River St., Jaffrey, NH 03452. Her Service will begin in the chapel at 2:00PM.
Dorothea will be laid to rest at Wildwood Cemetery in Winchester, MA, privately.
