Dorothy Alban Obituary
Mrs. Alban was born in Baltimore on August 1, 1940 to Adam and Julia Gregoski, and she grew up in Curtis Bay. She graduated from Seton High School and Notre Dame of Maryland University before starting a career at the NSA. Dottie was a cryptologist at the NSA for 20 years before retiring in 1978. She married James C. "Jay" Alban Ill in 1979, and they were together until 2024, when Jay passed away.
They lived primarily in Baltimore, but spent winters in Palm Beach, Florida, and summers in Bethany Beach, Delaware. The Albans were frequent travelers, as well, having gone on numerous cruises all over the world. Dottie was an accomplished deep sea fisherman, an avid needle pointer, a crossword puzzle expert, and a devout Catholic.
Dottie is survived by her sister, Carolyn Macher and her husband, Jim, of Merrill's Inlet, SC; and their children James II, Erin, and Jeffrey. She is also survived by her three stepchildren, James C. Alban IV (Garland), Taber Alban Frederick (Joe), and Nicholas Guy Alban (Melissa).

Dottie and Jay were neighbors of ours in Palm Beach for many years. Dottie always had a smile, something nice to say, a bit of neighborhood gossip, and treats for the dogs whose houses she passed when she walked up and down the street. She has been missed ever since she moved away and we are so sad to hear of her passing.

Wonderful memories of our fun times and Ocean City during Gordy girl beach week. You will always be an honorary Gordy girl.
Both you and Jay were amazing friends to my Aunt Beverly.
Rest in peace sweet friend. My sincerest condolences to the Alban and Gregoski families.
