Dorothy Arlene Aspelmeier, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2025, at the age of 105. Born on January 28, 1920, in Connecticut, Dorothy lived a vibrant life full of love and creativity.
Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late Conrad Aspelmeier. She cherished her family, leaving behind three devoted sons and their wives, Conrad and his wife Carol, Robert and his late wife Marlene, and Bert and his wife Kathryn.
Dorothy was the proud grandmother of five-Tracie Young, Connie Heffner, Kevin Aspelmeier, Holly Aspelmeier Kilby, and Joy Naill. Her legacy further extends to ten great-grandchildren-Brian, Shaune, Kiersten, Sage, Madelin, Kolton, Ricky, Thora, Finn, and Freya-and four great-great-grandchildren-Nathaniel, Jeneieve, Jasper, and Keira.
In her younger years, Dorothy found solace and satisfaction in gardening. Her artistic talents shone brightly through her hand tatting, drawing, painting, and textile art. She had a fondness for reading murder mysteries and also adored animals, regularly feeding birds and squirrels in her yard, and cherished shopping outings with her grandchildren, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Family and friends are invited to honor her memory during a public viewing at Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk, 7110 Sollers Point Road, on Sunday, November 9, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, November 10, 2025 at 10:00 am. A graveside service for Dorothy will take place at Meadowridge Memorial Gardens Cemetery immediately following the funeral service.
Dorothy Arlene Aspelmeier's life was a tapestry of love, creativity, and devotion to family and friends. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched. We invite all who knew her to celebrate her remarkable life and legacy.
