Dorothy M. Binns, age 96 of Oconomowoc, WI passed away Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born June 18, 1929 in South Wayne, WI, the daughter of Charles and Helma (Hanson) DeNure. Dorothy was born and raised in the South Wayne area where she graduated from South Wayne High School. She was united in marriage to Richard “Dick” Binns, on October 29, 1949.
Dorothy is survived by her sons: Larry Binns (Connie) of Oconomowoc, WI and Paul Binns (Susie) of Corona, CA and daughter Vicki O’Brien of Colorado Springs, CO; her grandchildren: Johnathan Binns, Sabrina Binns, Patrick O’Brien, Molly Handelsman, Amanda Vitko and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Dick; her sister Betty Johnson and brother Charles “Chuck” DeNure; and her parents-in-law: Raymond and Edna Binns.
Dorothy was a past member of Grace Lutheran Church in Darlington, WI, and long-time member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Oconomowoc, WI. She enjoyed sewing, tending to her flowers and baking. Dorothy was an avid Wisconsin Badgers and Green Bay Packer fan. She cherished the time she spent with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many friends where she lived at Towner Crest Senior Living in Oconomowoc. She created many memories that will last forever. Dorothy will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 11:30 AM at Our Saviors Lutheran Church (145 E. Lisbon Rd., Oconomowoc, WI). A visitation will be held Saturday, January 31, 2026 from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM at the church. The Pagenkopf Funeral Home in Oconomowoc is serving the family. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Dorothy’s name.
