Dorothy "Elaine" Brasuell, 82 of Centralia passed away peacefully with her family by her side on October 17, 2025.

Elaine was born on January 15, 1943, in Denver, CO the daughter of Victor J. and

Ellen May (Sorling) Rice. In 1967, Dorothy married the love of her life, Charles Brasuell, and he survives. Along with her husband, Charles, Dorothy is survived by her son, Jerry Brasuell and wife Janel of Lincoln, NE, and daughter Donna Burgeson and husband Harold, Jr., grandchildren, Eric Brasuell, Andrew Brasuell and Nathan Brasuell all of Lincoln, NE, Ellen Clague and husband James of Longmont, CO, Elizabeth Burgeson of Springfield, sister, Cathy Bechtel of Talent, OR, nieces and nephews, Tina Batten, Jonathan Rice, Scott Bachtel, Jennifer Bechtel. Dorothy loved her church family at Crossroads Community Church and truly felt at home there. Dorothy enjoyed crocheting, playing piano, and guitar, singing, and collecting dolls. She could throw a mean fastpitch baseball in her younger years, and was very good at organizing, truly enjoying it her whole life.

Elaine lived in many places throughout her life. As a young person, she lived in Colorado, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Oregon and Nebraska. After she and Charles were married, they lived in Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico, Nebraska, Kansas, South Dakota, Arkansas and Missouri.

She and Charles would travel with their children to Oregon to help with church camp meetings for many summers. They loved traveling. As an adult, she finished school, becoming an LPN and working in various nursing jobs. Later in life, she transitioned and worked as a teacher.

She was a remarkable woman and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
