Dorothy Ann Brown

Dorothy Ann (Crippen) Brown, 78, lovingly known as MeeMee by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, passed away on December 25, 2025, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Born on March 11, 1947, in Columbus, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Eileen Crippen. After graduating from Columbus High School in 1965, on September 3rd of that same year, she married Phillip Brown, the love of her life. He preceded her in death in 2010.

Dorothy expressed her creativity and kindness through her homemade ceramics and crocheted gifts for the people she loved. She was also known for being a great cook, and everyone always looked forward to her Spaghetti Bake at family gatherings.

Survivors include her daughters, Michelle (Jeff) Parriss of Columbus and Elizabeth (Glenn) Biren of New Jersey; grandchildren, Kristen Parriss (Dakota Miller) and Ryan Parris, both of Columbus, Zohie (Phil) Burgener of Franklin; great-grandsons, Zander Weed and Onyx Miller; sister, Mary (Bob) Watson of Granger, Indiana; several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, James, and her great-grandchildren, Michael and Beatrice Burgener.
