Dorothy ("Dottie") J. Butler (nee Schmidt and formerly Bolinsky) of Cherry Hill, New Jersey died on October 5, 2025 at the age 83. Dottie was born in Philadelphia and raised in Pennsauken. Dottie served as a long-term executive assistant for Lee Mark Metals Co. in Pennsauken and an insurance agent for Connell Insurance Agency in Oaklyn. As a lifelong animal lover, in the 70's Dottie was a co-owner of a dog boarding kennel in Voorhees New Jersey. Dottie enjoyed the beach and being near the ocean, spending many summers on her boat, "Slow Poke," or her parent's boat, "Witchcraft," docked in Morrison's Marina on Long Beach Island and later in life spending her summers on land in Brigantine New Jersey. Dottie was interested in politics and served as a Camden County Committee member for the Cherry Hill Republican Party. Dottie enjoyed eating at restaurants, swimming, reading, owning pets, watching Fox News, but most importantly spending time with her beloved family. Dottie will be remembered for her intellectual curiosity, sharp wit and gift of "gab."
She was predeceased by her son, Christoper H. Bolinsky; her first husband, Henry M. Bolinsky; her brother, Eugene (Bill) W. Schmidt (Nathlee); and her parents Eugene J. Schmidt and Dorothy Schmidt (nee Brown).
Dottie is survived by her husband, Richard J. Butler; daughter, Dorothy ("Dottie") Bolinsky, Esquire; brother, Joseph A. Schmidt (JoAnn); step-daughter, Crystal Koneful (nee Butler); step-son, Richard Butler (Beth); nephew, Joseph A. Schmidt, Jr. (Melissa); and other nieces, nephews and family members.
