Dorothy Jean Carson

Dorothy Jean Stuber Carson, of Billings, Missouri, passed away February 05, 2026, in Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO. Dorothy was born on April 17, 1929, in Missouri to Albert (Buddy) and Opal (Patty) Evans. She was the oldest child of five children.

When Dorothy was a young girl her parents moved the whole family from Missouri to southern California, where she lived until the spring of 1998. During her time in California, Dorothy finished school, enjoyed being with her family and friends, especially her best friend Marjorie, whom she ran around with and would go to the Riverside Rancho Dance Hall. This is where she met the love of her life, John, whom she married and had five children with. Dorothy worked many jobs, such as a server at Clifton's Cafeteria in Los Angeles, CA, later working for Cal-Mar Plastics in The City of Industry, California for 28 years, and retiring in 1996. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Dorothy loved working in her flower gardens. She was always ready to go find her next big treasure at a garage sale. Dorothy, also looked forward to her monthly gatherings with the group of ladies called the "cousins", where everyone laughed, ate, and celebrated life, love, and friendship. But most of all, Dorothy was all about loving her husband, children and grandchildren whom she will be missed by dearly.

Dorothy and her husband John, moved to Billings, MO, in the spring of 1998, from southern California, where they had resided for 47 years and raised their five children. Dorothy was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

She is survived by her children, Yvonne Carson of Palm Desert, CA, Linda Rosa of Billings, MO, Charles Carson of Sparta, MO, Kathryn Kremer of Dubuque, IA, and Lucinda "Cindy" Kullman also of Billings, MO, along with 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren , her sister Virginia Garbutt of Palm Desert, CA, a brother Richard Evans of Warsaw, MO; along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Dorothy is preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, John William Stuber Carson.

Family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, February 19, 2026, from 5-7 p.m. at Meador Funeral Home (314 N Main Ave, Republic). A Graveside service will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 1 p.m. in Evergreen Cemetery in Republic.
