Dorothy Louise Cone Christie, 77, of Ridge Spring, passed away peacefully at home after a long-term illness due to a stroke. Born in Aiken, SC, she was a daughter of the late Dorothy and Clyde Cone of Ridge Spring. Louise was a graduate of Ridge Spring–Monetta High School and went on to earn a B.A. in Education from Baptist College (now Charleston Southern University). She was married to Richard Lanier Christie for 47 years, and they were members of Ridge Spring Baptist Church.

Louise taught for several years at Ehrhardt Elementary School. After marriage, she worked as a substitute teacher and devoted herself to raising her sons, Barrett and Brandon, while the family moved throughout the country. Following Richard's retirement, they returned to Ridge Spring from Fort Worth, Texas.

Surviving are her husband, Rick; sons, Barrett Lanier Christie (Lori Elliott) and Brandon Rahn Christie (John Trueman); her brother, Clyde Robert "Bobby" Cone (Betsy); and her sister, Mary Elizabeth "Libby" Bostian (Buddy). She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Ramsey of Bamberg.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Ridge Spring Cemetery. The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the graveside. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Ridge Spring Baptist Church, PO Box 364, Ridge Spring, SC 29129. Milton Shealy Funeral Home, Batesburg-Leesville Chapel, is assisting the family.

The family expresses their sincere appreciation to the doctors and nurses of VIA Hospice Care.
