Dorothy J. DeBoer, cherished matriarch and beloved community member, passed away on October 23, 2025, at the age of 96. Born on October 9, 1929, in Louisville, KY to her parents Roy and Marie. Dorothy's journey through life was marked by her unwavering dedication to family and her passions that brought joy to those around her.
Dorothy enjoyed a remarkable career spanning over twenty years in carpet sales at Sears, where she built lasting connections with her customers and colleagues. Her high school diploma paved the way for her professional endeavors, yet it was her vibrant personality and love for life that truly set her apart.
A wonderful gardener, Dorothy had a special fondness for her annual marigolds, which symbolized the warmth and happiness she radiated throughout her life. She loved to bake pies that delighted family and friends alike. Dorothy found joy in driving her convertible around town, feeling the wind in her hair while appreciating the simple pleasures of life. Crafting and dancing were also close to her heart, as was her penchant for shopping at HSN, where she discovered unique treasures that often found their way into her loved ones' lives.
Dorothy leaves behind a loving family composed of her children; Mike, Keith, Diane, Jane and her husband Vinny Briguccia, The Late James and his wife Cathy, Henry and his wife Fern, and her adoring grandchildren: Sam, Ian, Kyle, Kim, Chris, Hayden, Austin, Kelly, Kasey, Morgan, and Reese. Dorothy was immensely proud of her great-grandchildren, including Lilly, Charlie, Geneieve, Finn, Vivienne, Eloise, Grant, Nora, Sophia, Marley, and Violet.
The family invites all who knew Dorothy to gather in celebration of her life. Visitation will take place on Sunday, November 2, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Mangano Family Funeral Home, Inc., located at 1701 Deer Park Ave, Deer Park, NY 11729. A Mass will be held the following day, Monday, November 3, 2025, at Saints Cyril & Methodius R.C. Church, beginning at 10:15 AM, with a conclusion at 11:15 AM, at 125 Half Hollow Rd., Deer Park, NY 11729.
In her 96 years, Dorothy J. DeBoer touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed by all whose lives she enriched with her kindness, creativity, and indomitable spirit.
