Dorothy M. Fuller, age 86 of Delaware passed away early Friday, May 5, 2023, at the Inn at Walnut Trail in Sunbury. She was born on June 23, 1936, in Delaware to the late Kenneth and Helen (Roof) Freeman.
Dorothy graduated from Elm Valley High School in 1954 and went on to receive her bachelor's degree in Home Economics from The Ohio State University. Prior to the birth of her children, she taught school for the Bellefontaine and Marengo schools. As her family grew, she served as a substitute teacher for the Buckeye Valley School System and enjoyed her role as a homemaker. Prior to her retirement in 1992, she was the assistant director for Turning Point in Marion as well as a board member.
Through education, she met Robert Fuller; in 1959 they were married and shared 56 wonderful years raising a family and working the family farm. Sadly, Bob passed away in 2015. Their home was considered a safe haven for their children's friends through their teenage years and into adulthood.
She was a member of the Kilbourne United Methodist Church, Mothers Club, Retired Teachers Association, and the Delaware County Farm Bureau. Winter months were spent in Haines City, Florida.
Dorothy was the rock of her family. With grace, she kept everything together through thick and thin. She enjoyed cooking and baking. Her ham loaf, breakfast rolls, and strawberry shortcake will certainly be missed. She was an avid reader and conversationalist. Friendly in nature, Dorothy was always welcoming and took pleasure in socializing. Fun-loving, calm and gentle, she was at her best when surrounded by her treasured family. She will be remembered for her caring and calming ways.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children Dr. Raymond (Karen) Fuller of Port Clinton, Cindy (Paul) Parker, and Judge Randall (Jennifer) Fuller both of Delaware, grandchildren Sarah Parker, Dr. Kenneth, Anna, and Amelia Fuller, and brother Dr. James (Barb) Freeman of Dayton, as well as numerous nieces, and nephews.
Friends may call 4-7 p.m. on Thursday at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 1510 W. William St. at Valleyside Dr., Delaware, where funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at the Bloomfield Cemetery, next to her husband Robert.
Memorial contributions can be made to Kilbourne United Methodist Church.

I remember meeting Mrs. Fuller way back in kindergarten! That's when I first met Ray! Lord, that was 56 years ago! She was always the sweetest thing! So nice and she either smelled of wonderful kitchen smells or of earthy flowers. She was always quick with a smile and a laugh. I've missed her so much over the years. My prayers for you Ray, Cindy and Robert, and the rest of the family! She will be greatly missed and have a forever fond memory in my heart.
