1928-2025
Born May 14, 1928, in Kalkara, Malta the daughter of Vincent and Josephine Vella.
Dorothy died peacefully surrounded by family during her last weeks before she died.
She survived WWII in Malta which was the most heavily bombed place on the globe during the war. Her stories of survival as a child running into shelters multiple times a day were very powerful. She attested that her faith in God and her Catholic Faith kept her positive until the war ended and throughout the rest of her life.
She married Frank Galea in 1946 and moved to the USA in 1948. Living first in NYC, then Levittown and then in Brentwood, NY for the past 67 years.
She is survived by 4 of her children: Vincent (Ethel), Joseph (Maryanne), Peter (Jill) and Nancy. Also, by her Grand Children: Lisa, Austen, Melissa, Elizabeth, Christina, Vincent, Matthew and Danielle. Additionally, by her Great Grand Children: Brandon, Emma, Grace, Timmy and Lena.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband Frank Galea and her daughter Sarah (Jerry) Granata.
She loved and was greatly loved by her family. A wonderful homemaker raising five children and helping and encouraging her grandchildren whenever needed.

The nightly ceremony in Washington, D.C. will be dedicated in honor of your loved one on the day of your choosing.
