Dorothy Lee Glover, age 92, of La Veta Colorado was called home by the Lord with her family by her side on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2024.
This loving, caring and wonderful woman has left a permanent mark etched on our hearts and will be greatly missed by her children Luanna, Sherry (Mitch), Steve (Angie), Linda (Adam), her predeceased daughter Vicki (Rick) and predeceased son in law (Tony).
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Bill, with whom she was married for 42 years while residing in California. After he passed in 1992, she returned to La Veta Colorado where she spent forty-seven years of her lifetime.
Family was the pivotal essence of Dorothy's life. She was the matriarch, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to our family. She has been a major presence in the lives of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is the grandmother to Tom (Annie), Mike (Kari), Jeremy (Amanda), Jennifer (Tony), Matt, Holly (Justin), Rhett, Charlee, Eric, Anthony, Sarah, Kaylee and her predeceased grandchild Jessi. She also has 14 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents Lilly and Joseph (Riggins) as well as her brothers Jodi and Billy. She was also predeceased by her Stepfather Ellis (Smith) and brother Wayne and is survived by her brother Jimmy.
She had a long-standing relationship with God and was very blessed through her faith until her last dying breath.
Dorothy will be remembered for her beautiful smile, grateful heart, giving disposition and loving embrace. Although our hearts are heavy, we will celebrate her life and find comfort knowing that she is in heaven watching over us.
All are welcome to her service at Spanish Peaks Church 311 S. Main St. La Veta, CO on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 11:00am with a potluck reception to follow the service.
