Bonnie Glover, a beacon of warmth and generosity, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2025, at the age of 100, in Fort Pierre, South Dakota. She was born Bonnie Marie Hammer on June 7, 1925, in Piedmont, South Dakota, to the late Albert and Marie Hammer. Bonnie's early years were spent in Terryville and Whitetail near Lead. She graduated from Lead High School in 1943 and went on to serve the nation by working for the FBI in Washington D.C. during World War II.
In 1945, Bonnie's heart found its match in Lowell Glover, whom she married in Lead. Together, they embarked on a journey of love and family, welcoming their two children, Lynn Marie and James. The family moved to Rapid City and later settled in Pierre, South Dakota, in 1962, where Bonnie would spend the majority of her fulfilling life. In 2024, she transitioned to Peaceful Pines in Fort Pierre, where she continued to live with the grace and kindness that defined her.
Bonnie's life was marked by her unwavering devotion to the Methodist Church in Pierre. She not only worked in the church office but was also an active member for many years, participating in various groups and contributing to the community's spiritual life. Her faith was a source of strength and inspiration to all who knew her.
Her hands were rarely still, as Bonnie channeled her loving spirit into crafting hundreds of blankets, lap robes, baby hats, and boots for the hospital auxiliary. These acts of service were a testament to her caring nature and her desire to provide comfort to others. Bonnie's legacy is one of compassion and selflessness, as she spread warmth both literally and figuratively through her community.
Bonnie was predeceased by her beloved husband, Lowell Baker Glover; her parents, Albert and Marie Hammer; her sister Rena Hammer, her brothers, Robert and Gilmore Hammer; her daughter-in-law, Donna Glover; her daughter, Lynn Paulson; and her granddaughter, Caroline Glover. Her loss is deeply felt by her family, who cherish her memory and the love she shared with them.
She leaves behind her son, James Lowell Glover and his wife, Linda, of Pierre; granddaughters, Cheryl Ann Somersall and her husband, John, of San Diego CA, and Carin Elizabeth Kietzmann and her husband, Aaron, of Sioux Falls; grandsons, Bradley Wade Rempfer and his wife, Jessica, of Bremerton, Washington, and Randy Lee Rempfer and his wife, Danielle, of Powell, Wyoming; step-granddaughter, Lauri Paulsen of Aberdeen Washington; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Wyatt Somersall, Slate Aaron Kietzmann, Nadia Carin Kietzmann, Alexander Lowell Rempfer, Robert Hudson Rempfer, Ethan Rempfer, William Rempfer, Alexandra Lynn Anderson, Marijane Elizabeth Casteel, and James Ryley Casteel. Her joy was further multiplied by the arrival of her great-great-grandson, Rhett Conrad Anderson.

Dick & Marianne Glover

December 2, 2025

We are so sorry for your loss. Your mom was a remarkable lady. When Dick took a bad fall 4 years ago she would call him every few weeks to see if he was ok. I met your mom in 1992 for the very first time during our visit to Rapid City. She welcomed me to the family with such kindness and treated me like she had known me forever. She will always have a special place in our hearts. Love, Dick and Marianne Glover
