Pauline Glover Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Chaney-Harkins Funeral Home - McAlester on Dec. 3, 2025.
Fannie Pauline Glover, lovingly known to all as Pauline, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2025, in McAlester, Oklahoma, at the age of 79.
A rosary will be recited at 5:00 p.m., Friday 5, 2025 at Chaney Harkins Funeral Home.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 6, 2025 at Dream City Church in McAlester. The burial of cremains will follow at North Town Cemetery.
She was born on January 4, 1946, in Reidsville, North Carolina, to Lucy Clyde (Settle) Watlington and Lemme Montgomery.
Pauline lived a life rooted in faith, family, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to encouraging those around her. A gifted athlete in her youth, she graduated from L'Ouverture High School in McAlester in 1964, where she distinguished herself as a standout basketball player. She held a remarkable 90% free-throw shooting percentage and a school record of 36 points in a single game, an achievement she proudly reminded us of and one that became a loving family legend, always used to motivate the next generation to try to beat her record. She also played shortstop for the Granger Jets softball team. Her love of sports followed her throughout her life and was a source of joy she gladly shared with her children and grandchildren.
Pauline dedicated more than three decades to the workforce, beginning with 20 years as a cashier at Safeway and Homeland and later serving 17 years as a food facility manager at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary (OSP). In 2012, she joined Zurvita alongside her son Lenard and, within five months, became one of the first female one-star ambassadors, an accomplishment that allowed her to retire early from OSP.
A woman of strong faith, Pauline was a devoted member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She found her greatest purpose and joy in her family. As a mother and grandmother, she worked tirelessly to provide for her children while still making time to nurture, encourage, and love them fully. Her grandchildren were her pride and delight, and she celebrated their every success as if it were her own.
Pauline is survived by her children: Oscar Joe (O.J.) Rhone Jr. and his spouse Robbin, Lenard Rhone and his fiancé Melissa Black, and Shelis Rhone-Moore and her spouse Charles; her siblings Richard Watlington, Mae Wilson (late husband, Carl Wilson), Betty Coleman, and Roberta Watlington; her grandchildren Roderick Miller, De'Lante Miller, Stephanie Shaw, Shannon Rhone, DeAngelo Rhone, Madisyn Rhone, Allisyn Rhone, Tre Rhone, Moses Moore, Xavier Moore LeNae Rhone and spouse Morgan Richards, Brenae Rhone, Ricketta Moore, and; and her great-grandchildren Kash Miller, Alize Ricketta Nicole Miller and De'Zavion Trae'Shaun Miller.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William (Rick) Glover; her children Larzell Rhone and Ricketta Rhone; her parents Lucy Clyde Watlington and Lemme Montgomery; her siblings Larry Martin, Patricia Johnson, and David Watlington; and her maternal grandparents Raymond and Bertha Settle.
Pauline will be remembered for her joyful spirit, unwavering faith, fierce love for her family, and her lifelong ability to make everyone feel seen, supported, and believed in.
