Dorothy Lee Gorden, 101, passed Sunday, January 4, 2026, at her home in Hernando, MS. A visitation will be held Sunday, January 11, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., with the service to immediately follow at 10:00 a.m., all at Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven. Interment will be at Memorial Park South Woods. Coleman Funeral Home of Southaven is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Gorden was a woman who truly loved living. She found joy in opening her home to others and was happiest when entertaining, welcoming family and friends as a gracious and attentive hostess. Her home was a place of laughter, conversation, and comfort, reflecting her generous spirit and love for bringing people together.

She was known for her good humor and warm personality, always ready with a smile or a lighthearted remark. Mrs. Gorden had a fond love for chocolate and candies, small pleasures that brought her great delight and were often shared with those around her.

A devoted and active wife and mother, she gave her time, energy, and heart fully to her family. She cherished the simple routines of daily life, whether watching her favorite show, Gunsmoke, or spending quiet moments sitting on her patio in her garden room, enjoying the beauty and peace of her surroundings.

Mrs. Gorden will be remembered for her kindness, her welcoming home, and her genuine enjoyment of life. Her presence brought warmth to many, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Wooley and husband James of Hernando, MS; her son, Ron and his wife Susie Gorden of Rogers, AR; seven grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; extended relatives, and friends.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Okell James Gorden.
