Norman Gean Burton

Norman Burton, 77, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends. He grew up in Frayser, Tennessee. At a young age, he married Teresa Finn, and together they built a life centered on family and hard work. Norman and his wife owned and operated their own commercial construction business creative construction for many years.

He is survived by his son, Robert Burton; his daughter, Angela Fore, and son-in-law, Philip Fore; his brothers, Bobby Burton and Terry Burton; and his sisters, Penny Baird, Glenda Wells, Shirley Bryant, and Julie Moore. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Baila Dzuris, Kyla Goolsby, Hunter Burton, and Joshua Burton; and his great-grandchildren, Normandy Dzuris and Novalene Dzuris. He leaves behind close friends Carla Lewis and Mario Arngonez.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Winfred and Helen Burton; his wife, Teresa Burton; his sons, Richie Burton and Denny Burton; his brother, Danny Burton; and his sister, Brenda Jennings.

A dedicated horseman, Norman competed in NCHA cutting horse events for many years, earning numerous buckles and trophies and receiving the prestigious Ned Hunt Award Rookie of the Year. He was strong, supportive, and loving, and truly enjoyed riding horses-a true cowboy at heart. In his later years, he enjoyed riding his side-by-side and spending time in his shop with his close friend Carla and their loyal companion, Trouble, solving the world's problems.

The family will be receiving friends Monday, March 30, from 12-1 pm with services beginning at 1 pm all at Hernando Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Hernando Memorial Park.
