Christopher Paxton Lowery

Christopher "Chris" Paxton Lowery, 56, of Coldwater, Mississippi, passed away peacefully at his home on March 23, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Chris was born on June 29, 1969, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Jerry Lowery and Jackie Cox. He grew up with a deep appreciation for family, hard work, and the simple joys of life-values that stayed with him throughout his years.

He was a dedicated journeyman electrician at Parker-Hannifin in Holly Springs, Mississippi, where he was known for his strong work ethic and reliability. Outside of work, Chris found his greatest peace in nature, especially by the water. Fishing was more than a hobby-it was his sanctuary. He often spoke of the calm and connection he felt sitting quietly at his favorite fishing spot, where he also found time to reflect and talk with God.

Chris's greatest joy came from his family. He treasured every moment spent with his grandchildren, especially teaching them how to fish and sharing with them his love for the outdoors. Those memories will live on in each of them. He also shared many happy adventures with his beloved wife, Melissa, including traveling and cruising-his favorite way to vacation.

Chris will be remembered as a kind, caring, and generous man who deeply loved his family and friends. His presence brought comfort and laughter to those around him, and his absence will be felt by all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Melissa Lowery; his children, Kevin Rogers (Ashley) of Huron, Tennessee, Brittany Watkins of Coldwater, Mississippi, and Brooke Conerly (Adam) of Navarre, Florida; and his cherished grandchildren, Cayden and Jacob Rogers; Raina and Stevie Grace Burse; Keiser, Brady, Levi, and Kinsley Douget; and Gabe, Jameson, and Gus Conerly.

He is also survived by his father, Jerry Lowery of Coldwater, Mississippi; his mother, Jackie Cox (Joe) of Lake Cormorant, Mississippi; his stepbrother, Joey Cox (Amy); and his stepsister, Melina Cochran (Tim).

Chris was preceded in death by his sister, Janaia Carol Lowery, and his stepbrother, Jason Cox.

Chris's life was a testament to love, faith, and the importance of family. Though he is no longer with us, the lessons he taught and the love he gave will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew him.
