From there she went to the University of Southwestern La. where she studied art & architecture. She was a life-time member of the Theosophical Society. Under the tutelage of Mrs Evna Edmunsen, a former President of the American Astrological Society, she became an accomplished astrologer, that led, later, to counseling jobs. One of her volunteering stints as a young mother, was to help set up the Howard Montessori school, later to be absorbed into the Audubon Montessori school. She worked briefly for Met Life Her interest in East Asian religions led to her service at the Krishna Temple on Esplanade Ave. Following her initiation by Jayapataki Swami in 2002 she was given the name Daya Chandrika. Her interests included jewelry-making & reading & writing poetry. She will be celebrated and remembered as pioneer in a field now being better understood and accepted in today's world.
