Dorothy Louise Holcomb ("MawMaw"), age 87, passed away on January 12, 2026. She was born on May 6, 1938.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Noah Clements and Norma Thrower; her daughter, Darlene Wright; her son, Ronnie Whitehead; her siblings, Andrew Clements (Florence), Mary Sharp (Benton), Helen Hambrick (Harold), Fannie Warren (Jimmy D.) and Nellie Smith (Mike); and her great-grandson, Lucas Devor.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 51 years, Jimmy Franklin Holcomb Sr. ("Frank" aka PawPaw).

Dorothy is also survived by her siblings, Albert Clements; Johnny Clements (Sandy); Bonnie Hambrick (Jerry); Margaret Wilbanks (Joe); and Curtis Clements.

She leaves behind her loving children: daughters Christy Humbert (Ed), Kimberly Holcomb (Kobe), Lydia Holcomb, and Juanita Holcomb; and sons Ricky Whitehead (Karen), Tony Whitehead (Beth), Timmy Whitehead (Tonya), Jimmy Holcomb Jr., Patrick Holcomb (Leah), and Kevin Holcomb (Bridget).

Dorothy was a cherished MawMaw to many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, and she is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom will forever treasure her love, wisdom, and guidance.

Dorothy Louise Holcomb will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her kind heart, and the legacy she leaves through generations who knew her as "MawMaw."

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Scottsboro Funeral Home with Rev. James Jeffery officiating. Burial will follow in the Gross Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 14, 2025 beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and prior to the service on Thursday.
