Marvin was born on Goosepond Island on August 16, 1939 to Bill and Vernie Olinger Holcomb. Marvin spent many years as a commercial fisherman and also worked as the manager of the bowling alley in Scottsboro.
Along with his parents, Mr. Holcomb was preceded in death by his brothers, Calvin, Billy Hugh, and Freddie. He is survived by his brother, Raymond Holcomb; sister, Mary Dell Burke; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Visitation will be held at Scottsboro Funeral Home on Friday, March 20, 2026 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the Scottsboro Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dean Jeffery officiating. Burial will be in Gross Cemetery.
