Dorothy Jane Kowalski, age 72, was called to her heavenly home on December 13, 2023. Jane was born in Fordyce, AR in March 1951 and grew up in Glenwood. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Casimir Kowalski; her daughter, Cindy Tanner Dixon: grand-daughters Meagan Dixon and Alyssa Dixon Robertson (Nicholas); stepdaughter Margaret Kowalski Vining: step-granddaughters Jessica Vining and Harper Vining; siblings Jimmy Nutt, Martin Nutt, Mandy Scantling and Stacy Nutt; as well as many other friends and family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew Nutt and Nell House Nutt.
Jane was known to all as a gentle, loving person. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, known for her engaging smile and warm, friendly hugs. Jane exemplified boundless love for her family and graceful kindness to strangers, especially those less fortunate. A devout Christian, she knew Jesus as her Lord and Savior. Throughout her life, she embraced and lived her faith, especially in using her gift for teaching children.
During her final days, while stoically enduring physical pain, she showed fierce determination to live, rarely complaining. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her, who are extremely blessed to have had her in their lives. She will be missed more than words can say.
