Dorothy E. Krause

Dorothy E. Krause, 97, of Manchester, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2021. Born on September 13, 1923 in Cromwell, CT, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Ottelia (Woike) Fanska. She was predeceased by her husband, George, and her infant son, David. She was a graduate of Middletown High School and the Middlesex Hospital School of Nursing, graduating as a registered nurse. Dorothy worked for many years caring for others at the Meadows Convalescent Home in Manchester. She took great joy in her family and her home was always full of lively celebrations for birthdays and holidays. She enjoyed sewing, baking, and watching UConn women's basketball. She was a long time member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Manchester. A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she will be dearly missed by her three daughters: Kathy Vallera and husband Joseph of Andover, MA, Carol Bond and husband Robert of St. James, NY and Cynthia Yaeger and husband Douglas of Manchester; six grandchildren: Darryl Bond and wife Candie of Stamford, CT, Bradley Bond and his wife Amy of Levittown, NY, Kirsten Bond of St. James, NY, Jeffrey Vallera and his wife Brigid of Tewksbury, MA, Lisa Koczak and her husband David of Madison, CT and Tiffany Knoblauch of East Hartford, CT, and seven great-grandchildren: Derek and Rylie Bond, Sienna and Claire Bond, Colleen and Brendan Vallera and Theodore Koczak. There will be a calling hour from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday, August 14, 2021, at the Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home, 400 Main St, Manchester, a service will be held at 11:00 am with burial to follow in the East Cemetery.
