Dorothy Kutchera 1928 ~ 2024
Dorothy Kutchera (nee Cooper) passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 26, 2024. Her faith has become sight! Death having been defeated by the work of the cross, Dorothy closed her eyes to this temporal world and opened them to see her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, face to face.
Dorothy has been reunited with the love of her life, Richard; son, James Richard; parents, Charles and Gladys Cooper; brothers, Bill Cooper and Don Cooper, as well as many family members and friends who have gone before her.
Dorothy and Richard have four children; James Richard (deceased), BJ Novak, Chuck (Holly) Kutchera, Valerie (Mark) Hooper; along with grandchildren Jamie Novak, Andrew Novak, Brittany Novak, Jeremy (Katie) Kutchera, Brandon Kutchera, Bryan (Erin) Kutchera, Katie Lynn Kutchera, Amanda (David) Liptak, Matt (Liz) Hooper, Scott Hooper, Mallory Newman; and great-grandchildren, Emery Hooper, Everett Hooper, Brooklyn Kutchera, Karmen Spikes, and Madison (Ryan) Woodruff.
Dorothy grew up in Columbus, OH, where she graduated from North High School. She went on for higher education at Dennison University and The Ohio State University where she gained her education degree. While at Ohio State University, Dorothy met and married Richard, with whom she celebrated 57 years of marriage. Upon graduation, Dorothy started a teaching job at Stewart School and later Greenlawn School in the Columbus area. Dorothy and Richard eventually settled in Forest Park, Ohio, where they raised their family before Richard passed away. A few years later, Dorothy moved to Hudson to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Valerie and Mark until her death.
Dorothy was happiest outside and could be found sitting under the gazebo enjoying nature. She particularly loved birds. Dorothy was a member and regular attendee of Liberty Valley Church in Northfield, Ohio. It was here where she was saved and came to know and trust Jesus as her Lord and Savior.
