STOW - Vera Gail Mozingo, 97, was born on August 23, 1928, in Warwood, West Virginia and died March 20, 2026.
She was a lifelong resident of Stow graduating in the Class of 1946. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Silas Mozingo, her parents Forrest and Bertha Atzenhofer and her brother, Edwin Atzenhofer.
After raising her children, Vera started a career devoting 25 years to the Residence Halls of Kent State University where she had a family of students with whom she remained in contact. They knew her as Mo. Vera was well known as a talented seamstress and crafter, sharing her gifts with all who knew her. In later years she became the matriarch to many nieces, nephews and friends offering guidance, compassion and support. Vera cherished her family above all. She treasured the time she spent with her 3 children and their spouses, her 6 grandchildren and their spouses and her 7 great-grandchildren. Her support, advice and sense of humor will be deeply missed.
Vera is survived by her children, Charles (Mary) Mozingo, Susan (Mike) Factor, and Edwin (Bonnie) Mozingo; her grandchildren Michael (Kate) Mozingo, Cari (Jeff) Hetler, Kevin (Claire) Factor, Michael Factor, Brittany Mozingo and Katie (Adam) Fletcher; great-grandchildren Silas and Joe Mozingo, James, Ryan and Will Hetler and Haley and Amelia Factor; many family members especially her cousins Roger Suppes and Bonnie Bork, and many other special friends.
In recent years Vera greatly enjoyed and appreciated her time and friendships at the Hudson Meadows and Maplewood Senior Living in Bath. We thank them and Crossroads Hospice for their support and care.
Graveside services will be held for immediate family with a Memorial Service at a later date.
