Dorothy E. (Rhoads) Landis, wife of the late Earl L. Landis, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 18. She was blessed by God to live a healthy and active life for 98 years.

Mrs. Landis was born on September 4, 1927, in Spring Township, Berks County. She was the daughter of the late Charles Rhoads and his wife, Virgie (Reinheimer) Rhoads. At a young age, she believed that Jesus died for her sins and trusted in Him for salvation. Throughout her life, she demonstrated kindness, generosity, and thankfulness. She was quick to greet others with a smile and was a joy to be around.

An exceptional homemaker, Mrs. Landis could often be found tending to her colorful flower gardens or making her well-loved applesauce and baked goods. She was also a talented seamstress.

Mrs. Landis taught Sunday school and helped in Bible club and Pioneer Girls. She was a member of Berean Bible Church, and she treasured time in Scripture.

Her most notable legacy was being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her children, Judy, wife of Joel Lenko, Bonnie Landis, Dean, husband of Kathy Landis, and Joy, wife of Ray Bortz; her grandchildren, Amy, wife of Richard Jacox, Katie, wife of Gerald Hagey, Joshua, husband of Beth Landis, Caleb, husband of Rachael Landis, Aaron, husband of Jenny Landis, Samuel Landis, Kelsi Bortz, Molly, wife of Aaron Beer, Jonathan, husband of Kaitlynn Bortz, and Lauren, wife of Clint Kidd. She was also blessed by God with 21 great-grandchildren, whom she frequently saw and enjoyed watching as they played and grew. Dorothy was predeceased by four brothers and three sisters.

A private funeral service will be held to honor Mrs. Landis's life. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Berean Bible Church, 2675 E. High St., Pottstown, PA 19464. Arrangements are by the Catagnus Funeral Home, Gilbertsville.
