Dorothy Long Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Woody Home for Services on Dec. 5, 2025.
Dorothy (Dottie) Ann Long, born on Wednesday, November 10, 1937 in Keystone, West Virginia to the loving parents, the late Dorothy Eugenia and James Wilbur Harvey.
Ann started working at Welch Hospital shortly after graduating from Kimball High School. A few years later, Ann, her late husband Warren Clifford Long, brother James aka (June) and their Dad James Wilbur relocated from West Virginia to the big city of New York. Ann was an Assembly Supervisor at Lockheed Martin (Aerospace Technologies) for nearly twenty years, she built a close circle of friends who became family - both during work hours and through many gatherings after work hours such as bowling tournaments, reunions, casino trips, Broadway plays and dinner parties that they all shared.
Ann's heart was always fulfilled when she was surrounded by her loving brothers James and Leroy, her sisters Mona and Lynn, and her most treasured gifts from God, her daughter Sabrina, her grandson Alphonso and her four great- grands and her adored nieces and nephews Kym Brandi aka BB and Stephanie. Ann leaves behind several cherished memories of beautiful family dinners, birthday gathering, cookouts, vacations and the most cherished was the family Thanksgiving trip to OBX, NC. Ann was the matriarch of the Harvey family, a role she fulfilled with grace and strength. During a portion of her illness, she was lovingly cared for by her Goddaughter Annette Nelus and during that time she gained a host of caring and loving friends.
Ann leaves to mourn her daughter, Sabrina Harvey (Ricky Muhammad); grandson, Alphonso Richardson; great-grandchildren: Taji, Ameer, Aiza and Ali; sisters: Mona Freeman (late James Freeman), Lynn Harvey-Flanigan (late James Flanigan); brothers: late Leroy Harvey (Maria Kuta Harvey), late James Harvey (June); nieces/nephews, Stephanie & Chris Mushington (Brooks, Grant & Quinn), Kym & Jerome Mayo (Mister Myles, Tia, Alliyah, Nyla, Anajah, Chanel, Nina) Brandi & Quentin Jordan (Milani and Sydney) and forever friends: Loline Young, Penny Faulkner, Norma Jean and her lifetime hairdresser, Marjorie Williams.
