Dorothy Mae Raawe Age 94, of Rice Lake, WI, died Thursday, November 20, 2025 at her home. She was born on August 22, 1931 in Rice Lake to Herman and Bertha (Krug) Raawe and grew up on a dairy/beef and hog farm in the Township of Stanley, WI. Dorothy graduated from Rice Lake High School in 1949, received her Bachelors degree from UWEC and received her Masters Degree in Education in Milwaukee, WI. Dorothy taught elementary school for over 40 years: 8 years at Franklin Elementary in Rice Lake and 32 years in the Milwaukee/Racine area. Dorothy loved being with her dogs, enjoyed reading and watching the news everyday. She was very active in the First Lutheran Church and led a Ladies Bible Group in her home for several years. Dorothy was very generous in the Historical Society and Animal Welfare Charities. She is survived by a special family, Randy and DeeAnn Cook and their family; several cousins, Sandra Schumacker, Sharon McDonnell, Judy Byerly, Sally Lancette, Barbara Terrell, Tom Robarge, Lois Anderson and Beverly Buckner; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Bertha Raawe; a sister, Irene Raawe and a brother, Alfred Raawe. Funeral Services will be held at 11AM Monday, November 24, 2025 at the First Lutheran Church in Rice Lake, Rev. Jon Cluppert officiating, with interment in the Meadow Creek Cemetery in Rice Lake. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Appleyard's Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI is assisting and serving the family with the arrangements.
