Mother Dorothy Jean Mangruem

Dorothy Jean Mangruem was born on November 17, 1940, to the late Nathanial and Birtha Maples of Huntsville, Alabama. She accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age, under the late Reverend McKinley Jones. She continued her faith as she tirelessly served as Vice President on the Mothers Board, Usher Board, Easter Committee, and Missionary Society. She was also a member of the OES Chapter 21.
Dorothy J. Mangruem departed her life to enter eternal rest surrounded by her loved ones on March 8, 2023, at Huntsville Hospital. She was proceeded in death by the late Eddie D. Mangruem; her three sons: Bruce, Nathanial, and Alfred (Pete) Mangruem; her mother, father, and sister.
She leaves to cherish in her passing, her "devoted" daughter Dorothy R. Mangruem of Huntsville, Alabama; five sons: Wilfred (Atteymas), Lloyd, Eddie Jr. (Trisha), Victor (Martha), and Vincent (Vertricia) Mangruem, all of Huntsville, Alabama; two sisters: Doris Maples and Evangelist Birtha L. Watts; seventeen grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter Mykah Tyner.
Funeral service will be 12:00 noon, Friday, March 17, 2023 at the Blackburn Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America (507 Plummer Road Huntsville, AL 35806) with Pastor Tramaine Snodgrass officiating. Interment will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens. Mother Mangruem will lie in repose one hour prior to service time.
Public viewing will be held from 12:00 noon until 6:00 p.m., Thursday, March 16, 2023 and 8:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 17, 2023 at the Royal Funeral Home.
Masks are required for entry into the service.
