Dorothy W. Manning, age 87 of Dandridge, passed away peacefully Thursday, June 26, 2025.
She grew up in church and loved to sing. She also loved gardening and flowers; and will be remembered for her vibrant personality.
She was one of four children born to James Garfield Patterson and Daisy M. Patterson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, George Arthur Manning; and her siblings, Louise "Tootie" (H.R.) Manning, Paul Kenneth "Bill" Patterson, & Dennis Patterson; and her daughter, Sara Jane Underwood.
She is survived by her children, Sharon Gail Manning and George Anthony "Tony" Manning; grandson, Gary Lee (Lori) Underwood; great-grandchildren, Gary Allen Underwood, Jeremiah Underwood, & Dylan Underwood; step-siblings, Gerald Patterson, David Patterson, & Linda Jarnigan; several nieces & nephews, including but not limited to "Uncle Henry's Big Kids" {Maxine, James (Penny), Marvin (Paulette) Dexter (Sharon), & Charlotte Ann}; special friends, Sonya "Tootie" Parrott and the crew at Jefferson Park's Rogers Cottage.
Dorothy enjoyed her flowers while she was living; yet specifically requested none to be sent to her funeral. That said, the family suggests instead making a memorial donation to the charity of your choice.
The family will receive friends from 1PM to 3PM, Sunday, June 29, 2025 at Farrar Funeral Home of Dandridge. A Celebration of Life will follow at 3PM.
Farrar Funeral Home of Dandridge is honored to serve the Manning family.
