Dorothy Christina Manthie, 98, of Missoula, passed away on September 22, 2025, at The Village Health & Rehab Center of natural causes.
She was born on December 25, 1926, in Stevensville, Montana to Edward & Ruth Pearson. In 1944, she married Merrill (Bill) Manthie. They lived in Missoula where they raised two children, Darlene and Wayne.
She worked for the State of Montana in the Horticultural Inspection Department, Missoula County Courthouse in the Treasury Department and due to her love of children she opened her own Daycare business which she operated until she retired.
She enjoyed accordion and fiddler jams, square dancing, reading a good book, flower gardening, watching the birds and loved Sudoku and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by Merrill (Husband), Wayne (Son), Edward & Ruth Pearson (Parent’s) and Willie Pearson (Brother).
She is survived by her daughter Darlene (Joe) Gordon; two granddaughters Christy (Mark) Hamill and Tammy (Grady) Barnett; great granddaughter Kaylee (Nick) McMicheal; great great grandson Ira McMicheal and numerous other family and friends.
At Dorothy’s request there will be no services.
