Dorothy Pamela Martin, 80, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, December 20, 2022. Scott Funeral Home has been entrusted with her care. Cremation was chosen, and Dorothy's wishes are to be with her son, Marvin in Key West, Florida. A Celebration of Life for Dorothy and Marvin will take place at a later date.
Dorothy was born on February 19, 1942 in Lee County, Virginia to the late Walter and Rosetta Dickey Sutton. Her favorite interests were spending time with her beloved family, reading, baking, sewing and playing bingo.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Marvin L. Martin; siblings, James Sutton, Dennis Sutton, Launa Chester; and a nephew, Sean Chester.
Dorothy is survived by her two daughters, Jennie Martin; Pamela Powers (Wayne); a brother, David Sutton (Linda); five grandchildren, Sergeant First Class (SFC) David L. Tomerlin (Shannon), Windi Lawrence (Steve), Tyler Jones (Shelby), Joshua Powers (Kelly), Oliver Powers (Jemma); ten great-grandchildren, Hannah Reif (Specialist SPC Jesse Reif), Ethan Tomerlin, Parker Tomerlin, Brody Lawrence, Izaiah Sherman, Xander Jonas, Lennox Jonas, Abigail Grace Powers, Amelia Rose Powers, and Asher Joshua Powers; two sisters-in-law, Anita and Sharlene Sutton; nieces and nephews, Herbert James Sutton (Petra), Denny Sutton, Angie Armstrong (Dylan), Andrea Skaggs (Robert), Chuck Chester, Mike Chester, Dana Sutton, David Sutton Jr.; and her loving niece and caregiver, Crystal Chester and her son, Ethan Peterson; and a host of many great nieces and nephews.
