Patricia Mooney Copeland, 83, of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, and formerly of Springfield, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at her home in Florida on September 19, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Worcester, Massachusetts, on September 22, 1941, she was the beloved daughter of the late Robert and Irene (Premo) Mooney. Patricia dedicated many years of her life as a paraprofessional in the Springfield school system, where she was known for her kindness, patience, and commitment to education. Patricia had a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life. She loved good food, dancing, and live music, and could often be found reading a book by the ocean-her happy place. Her warmth, joy, and strength will be remembered by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband, George Copeland, in 2021. She is survived by her three devoted children: James Copeland of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; Lisa Robie and her husband Michael of Springfield, MA; and Paul Copeland of Springfield, VT. She also leaves her cherished sister, Marcia Loranger of Alfred, ME; and her four loving grandchildren: Michael Robie Jr., Tyler Robie, Michelle Dowd, and Samantha Copeland. Patricia was also blessed with several great-grandchildren, who brought her endless joy. Calling hours will be held on Monday, September 29, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home & Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen Street, Springfield, MA. A graveside service will take place on Tuesday, September 30 at 11:00 AM at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
