Dorothy Mae Hatton - McClain was born on July 13, 1949, in St. Joseph, Louisiana, to

Abraham Hatton and Martha Ann Johnson Hatton. She departed this life early Sunday morning

on August 17, 2025. Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents Abraham and Martha Ann

Johnson Hatton, her beloved daughter Debra McClain, her beloved granddaughter, grandson and

great-grandson, Jessica McClain, Tyron McClain, and Triston Hatton. She is also preceded in

death by her siblings Tom Hatton, Abraham II Hatton, Curtis Hatton, Joseph Hatton and Rosie

Lee Hatton.

Dorothy dedicated her life to Christ at a very early age, and her faith remained the foundation of

her life until she was called home by God. She was married to Farris McClain, Sr. at the age of

16 though they later divorced. Their union was blessed with five children, all of whom reside in

Arkansas. Dorothy is survived by: Farris (Shatonda) McClain, Jr., Sharon (Terry) Hines,

Darnell McClain, and Cisco McClain. She is also survived by her remaining siblings Inez Mays

of Jacksonville, AR; Joyce Hatton of Sherwood, AR; Bobbie Herron of Chicago, IL; Martha

Bizzell of Little Rock, AR and her Sister-in-Laws Glady Hatton of Little Rock, AR and

Jamesella Hatton.

Dorothy's legacy continues through her 17 grandchildren Danquisha McClain,

Jeremy(Saige)McClain, Brittney McClain, Darris McClain, Jasmine McClain, Elexandrea

McClain, Arius McClain, Au'ndreya McClain, Shameka McClain, Cortney Mcclain, Kimo

(Fran'Chise) McClain, Devin McClain, Nickolas Cleveland, Olivia Cleveland, and Abigail

Cleveland. 25 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of loving family

members and friends. She was cherished by all who knew her.

Gifted with the voice of an angel, Dorothy sang in church choirs for many years. The song "I

Don't Know Why Lord, I Have to Cry Sometimes" will forever be etched in our memories and

hearts, a testament to her faith and spirit.

Dorothy was a wonderful woman who took great pride in cooking, cleaning, and loving her

children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and anyone who was blessed to receive her

kindness. Her home was always open, and her love knew no bounds. Heaven has truly gained one

of the best cooks this lifetime could ever meet.

Dorothy Mae Hatton's memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
